1. EILC students who will be an Erasmus student in Antwerp, but NOT at the Lessius Hogeschool. Normally, the coordinator of the institute where you are accepted as an Erasmus student will help you find accommodation for the whole period of your stay in Antwerp. It does not make sense to take a room somewhere just for the period of the EILC course. First of all it is very difficult to rent a room for just 1 month. Moreover it is better to settle in immediately in the room that you will occupy the whole year / semester.
   
2. Erasmus students at the Lessius Hogeschool staying here during the first semester.  As most of the Erasmus students stay only 1 semester I would advise them to try and take over the rooms of our Erasmus students who are abroad during the first semester. The list of the rooms available will be published on the website by mid - June. You're supposed to contact people on that list yourselves and make arrangments!
   
3. Erasmus students at this institute staying here the whole academic year.  You can either take a room from one of our students going abroad during the first semester and then change rooms in February. (By that time it is easier to rent for one semester: quite a few students give up after a couple of months).  Or you can take a room immediately for the whole year. Check at this website: www.studentkotweb.be or or contact your departmental coordinator. Ask for a KOTWEB password at inge.vanabbenyen@lessius.eu.
   
4. EILC students who will be Erasmus students at an institute located outside Antwerp. We'd advise them to take a room at a youth hotel /hostel.  An extensive list can be found at here. Or they can rent a bedsitter (2 persons). The Antwerp educational institutions have developed a common        accommodation service called KOTWEB. Student lodgings meeting certain requirements are registered on this site. Ask for a KOTWEB password at inge.vanabbenyen@lessius.eu

CULTURAL COMPONENT

The supporting material reflects everyday life in Flanders.
The documentary section of the video units focuses on socio-cultural aspects of Flemish/ and or Belgian society.
We link this material with our visits to Brussels, Brugge en Ghent.
Total hours of activities: 12 h

 

RECOGNITION / ECTS

Students receive an official certificate with reference to the levels used by the Nederlandse Taalunie. Students who are positively assessed obtain 4 ECTS credits (workload 120 hours)
