Keynote speaker | dr. Jochen Bittner
Jochen Bittner, born in 1973 in Germany, is the European and Nato Correspondent with the German newsweekly DIE ZEIT. Prior to his post in Brussels, he has been an editor with at the political board of DIE ZEIT’s head offices in Hamburg. From 2001 on, he has had a special focus on terrorism, legal politics, defense and intelligence affairs. Jochen studied Law and Philosophy and holds a PhD in Legal Philosophy from the University of Kiel. Between 1998 and 99 he lived in Belfast, where he investigated the semi-secret judicial system of the IRA. His book publications include: Ein unperfekter Frieden – Die IRA auf dem Weg vom Mythos zur Mafia, 2001, and Beruf Terrorist – Ein Tagebuch der neuen Weltunordung, 2006.
